Ashanti Alexander is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor. She received her certification at Kiva Hot Yoga in Birmingham, Alabama. Yoga has helped her heal from hip and hamstring injuries. It has not only helped her physically, but spiritually and mentally as well. She teaches the 26 posture yoga class. It consists of a balancing, spine strengthening and floor series all done in a heated room. This class is designed to help maximize strength and flexibility. The compression and release poses incorporated in many of the postures are designed to help blood circulation. Ashanti is so pleased to share this style of yoga with her hometown community. She also enjoys writing poetry and hopes to incorporate it with her yoga teaching.
